I can’t believe it’s Friday already! This week’s 52 on Friday theme is “Imitation is the Sincerest Form on Flattery.” The assignment was to imitate one of our favorite photographers, while still making the image our own. I decided I wanted to try shooting in Elliott Erwitt’s documentary style. Erwitt regularly includes dogs in his photos, and I just love his book, Dog Dogs.
My original intention was to head our for a walk around Lowell to see if I could find some doggie subjects for some “street photography” style photos. Of course, the weather was not on my side this week, and it seemed like it was always either cold, raining or both! So when I had time to shoot, there was no one else crazy enough to be outside.
Lucky for me, Iris is always ready to step in as my model. Such a good girl, here she is trying to pretend that she isn’t posing.

I hope you’re ready to see some more fun pet photos. This week, not only will you get to see all of the fun photos from the 52 on Friday group, but I bet you’ll also learn about some new photographers as everyone imitates their favorites! Start by checking out Karla Ogilvie Photography in Encinitas, CA. Keep following the links in each blog post to see all of the this week’s photos before ending up right back here!

I think you hit it on the mark this Elliott’s style.
This is perfect! Iris looks so graceful as always :)
These look awesome!
As usual, I love it!
Great job. I particularly love Iris’ expression and pose in the first shot.
Great photos Blue! I especially love that first one, since Iris does look like a dog that you just happened to notice while out for a walk. Very nice!
Do you have to pay her for this? Terrific pictures, as always!
