If you’re new to the blog, you’ve probably noticed a few posts that mention the “52 Weeks Project.” At the beginning of the 2011, a group of professional pet photographers decided to challenge ourselves by giving each other weekly photo “assignments.” The goal is to create at least one new photograph based on a different theme for each of the 52 weeks in the year. Having a theme really challenges us to think creatively! Our group currently includes photographers from all over the world, and each person has a unique style. It is so much fun seeing all of the very different interpretations of each theme.
Here’s how it works. At the beginning of each week, one member of the group chooses a new theme and then everyone has until Friday to take a photo that fits the theme. The only rule is that the photograph has to be a new image shot during that week. On Friday morning, everyone in the group shares their new photo. Because we’re all pet photographers, you can guess what you’ll be seeing a lot of in our photos!
One of my favorite things about this project is that at the end of each blog post, there’s a link to the next photographer’s “52 on Friday” post. By following the links, you’ll be able to see every participating photographer’s take on the theme, and you finish right back at the blog where you started. I know I look forward to seeing all of the new photos on Friday, and I hope you will too!
Be sure to check out all of the past “52 on Friday” posts.
